Overview
WorkFlex can show an AI-translated German version of two documents: the Business Travel compliance summary and the Workation risk assessment. This makes these documents easier to read for employees who use WorkFlex in German.
Admins with access to Company settings can switch the German version on or off for each document separately.
Important to know
Permissions: You need access to Company settings to change this setting.
Company-wide setting: Your choice applies to all entities in your company. You can’t turn it on for some entities only.
The English version is the official version. Our in-house compliance experts write and review every compliance summary and risk assessment in English.
The German version is not reviewed. It is an AI translation of the English original. It is not checked by our Compliance team and may contain errors.
Available for two documents only: the Business Travel compliance summary and the Workation risk assessment. German is currently the only translation language.
How it works
Each document has its own AI-translated German version toggle, so you can switch on one document, both, or neither. Which version a user sees depends on the toggle and on the language set in their WorkFlex profile:
Toggle | User’s profile language | Version the user sees |
On | German | German only |
On | Any other language | English |
Off | Any language | English |
Users with German as their profile language see only the German version when the toggle is on. The English version is not shown alongside it.
Steps
Turn on the German version
Go to Company settings > Company documents.
Find the document you want to translate:
Risk assessment for Workations
Compliance summary for business trips
Under AI-translated German version, switch the toggle on.
To translate the other document too, repeat step 3 in its section.
Turn off the German version
Go to Company settings > Company documents.
Under AI-translated German version for the relevant document, switch the toggle off.
All users will then see the English version of that document again.
In Brief
Once the toggle is on, users with German as their profile language see the German version of that document. Everyone else continues to see the English version. Below each toggle, a reminder notes that the German version is not reviewed by our Compliance team and may contain errors.
Additional notes
Let your employees know. Tell German-speaking employees that the German text is an AI translation and that the English version is the official one.
Check the English original when it matters. For important decisions, or if a sentence in the German version seems unclear, rely on the English version.
Prefer reviewed content only? Keep the toggle off. Everyone will then see the English version reviewed by our compliance experts.
You can change your mind at any time. Switching the toggle off takes effect for all entities in your company.
