The assignment To-do list (formerly Task Tracker) helps HR teams, employees and other stakeholders keep full visibility over all required to-dos throughout an international assignment. Tasks are structured by assignment phase and managed in one central place, ensuring clarity and accountability at every step.
It replaces Excel sheets, email follow-ups and disconnected task tools, and supports a structured and reliable assignment process. You find it on the Actions required tab of each assignment:
What is the assignment To-do list?
The To-do list provides a phase-based task overview for each assignment, allowing all involved parties to:
See what needs to be done
Understand who is responsible
Track progress in real time
Work from a single source of truth
Each assignment phase comes with a predefined default task list created by the Compliance & Research Center (CRC), covering the most common use cases.
Tasks can be fully customized by HR if needed.
How can HR teams use the To-do list?
HR users have full control over task management within an assignment. Open the assignment in Employee requests > Assignments: the To-do list is on the Actions required tab. Use the filters (assignment phase, Assigned to, Status) to narrow down the list, and click + New task to add a task with its assignment phase, title, description, due date and assignee.
HRs can:
Create, edit, and delete tasks
Assign tasks to employees, teammates or any email address
Set due dates
Add custom titles and descriptions
Mark tasks as completed
In addition to full customization, HRs can rely on CRC-defined default task lists, designed to cover the majority of assignment scenarios.
Typical HR use cases:
Tracking compliance-critical steps across assignment phases
Coordinating tasks between HR, payroll, mobility, and external partners
Ensuring nothing is missed before, during, or after an assignment
Maintaining clear documentation for audits and internal review
How do employees (assignees) use the To-do list?
Employees only see tasks that are assigned to them or relevant to their role — keeping the experience clear and focused.
Employees can:
View all tasks assigned to them
Create tasks and assign them to themselves or to any HR user
Mark tasks as completed
Clearly see due dates and task descriptions
This gives employees clarity on:
What is expected from them
When actions are required
Which tasks are already completed
The To-do list and assignment phases
Tasks are structured along the assignment lifecycle, ensuring the right tasks appear at the right time.
Each phase includes:
A predefined default task list created by CRC
The ability for HR to add or adjust tasks as needed
This ensures:
A consistent setup across assignments
Flexibility for company-specific processes
Clear separation between phases (e.g. preparation, during assignment, return)
